Department Overview

The Intensive Care Nursing Department has become an independent department within the Faculty of Nursing in (2022). The department was established to prepare nursing professionals who excel academically and in research in critical care nursing. It aims to train highly skilled nurses and practitioners who can provide advanced healthcare to critically ill patients and their families.

Objectives

  • Ensure high academic standards in critical care nursing education through well-structured curriculum, updated teaching methodologies, and regular curriculum reviews.
  • Enhance the clinical skills and competence of students by providing hands-on experience in critical care settings, advanced simulation labs, and exposure to diverse critical care scenarios
  • Incorporate the latest advancements in healthcare technology and equipment relevant to critical care nursing into the educational curriculum to ensure students are familiar with state-of-the-art practices.
  • Promote collaboration and interaction among various healthcare disciplines to enhance interdisciplinary teamwork and provide holistic patient care in critical care settings
  • Engage with the community to raise awareness about critical care nursing, educate the public on critical care issues, and foster partnerships to improve healthcare delivery.
  • Encourage faculty and students to engage in research activities, publish in reputable journals, and contribute to advancements in critical care nursing knowledge and practices.
