King Abdulaziz University, represented by the Faculty of Medical Rehabilitation Sciences, and Al-Ittihad Club Company have signed an MoC to support the sports and health sectors in the Kingdom.

The partnership aims to integrate the two parties’ expertise and resources in alignment with Saudi Vision 2030, focusing on enhancing athlete performance, improving sports services, and preparing qualified professionals to serve the community.

The MoC was signed on behalf of the University by Dr. Afnan bint Mohammed Al-Khatib, Dean of the Faculty of Medical Rehabilitation Sciences, and on behalf of Al-Ittihad Club Company by Domingos Soares de Oliveira, Chief Executive Officer.

The collaboration focuses on key fields including physical therapy, sports rehabilitation, clinical sports nutrition, and radiological sciences.

Under the MoC, Al-Ittihad FC will provide support and training in medical disciplines, while the University will lead efforts in preparing and qualifying health and sports specialists.

Joint initiatives will include coordinating mutual visits for knowledge exchange, training internship and undergraduate students, and facilitating research opportunities for scholars in health and sports-related disciplines.

The MoC further outlines that Al-Ittihad FC will deliver specialized lectures and seminars and participate in public awareness campaigns promoting comprehensive prevention and treatment of sports injuries.

Meanwhile, the University will design and implement joint academic and professional programs and courses, supervise students during training programs, and encourage faculty and researcher exchanges to strengthen collaboration in scientific research, applied practice, and training.

To ensure measurable outcomes, the MoC establishes key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate the success of the partnership.

These include training at least 30 male and female students annually as a benchmark for workforce development, monitoring the number of jointly published research studies, and tracking the number of educational and professional workshops conducted.

These indicators will serve as tangible measures of progress toward achieving the MoC’s goals of advancing sports and health across the Kingdom
