The nurse who will graduate from the Bridging Nursing Program will be able to function in any health care setting. At the end of the program, the graduate will be able to:

• Provide professional nursing care, in relation to health promotion and maintenance, illness care, restoration, rehabilitation, based on knowledge derived from theory and research.
• Implement nursing skills & knowledge and principles of leadership to enhance nursing and health care practices within various settings.
• Utilize principles of research and evidence based practice to improve nursing practice.
• Collaborate with other health care providers in promoting general health and well-being of the clients.
• Apply nursing professional values, ethics, moral and legal aspects into nursing practice.

• Provide appropriate patient/public updated health education that is sensitive to their needs.
• Communicate effectively and accurately with patients, physicians and other health care team members.
• Display the attitudes and values appropriate to health care professionals.
• Maintain the optimal level of standards of nursing practice.
• Improve nursing service and advance nursing knowledge based on scientific research process and directive inquiries.
• Demonstrate responsibility and accountability that are congruent with professional nursing standards, policies, and procedures.
• Collaborate and coordinate with colleague, and other health care providers
• Safe guard patient dignity, respect, and comfort during care provision.
• Apply professional values, ethical, moral and legal aspects of nursing into nursingpractice.
• Adapt nursing informatics to support nursing decision making process

Admission to the Bridging Nursing Program shall be based primarily on the Applicant’s Profile. That will require the following:

• Saudi citizen & Non Saudi of Saudi mother citizen
• Graduated from the Technical Nursing Programs (junior college, MOH health institutes graduate after 1413, and private health institute) who completed 3 Years.
• With a GPA of very good and above.
• A full-time student.
• Pass the interview and the department Pre-selection/Qualifying Examination.
• Proficiency in English language, a minimum TOFEL 450 or its equivalent
• Physically fit as evidenced by a current medical examination report.
• Graduated since not more than 10 years
• Submit two reference letters.
• Applicants must have current basic live support (BLS) certificate and Saudi Council for Health Specialties (SCHS) license.

• The required hours for completion of the Bridging Nursing Program are 83 credit hours: 61 credit hours theory and 22 credit hours practice.

  Credit hours equivalencies in the program are based on the ratio of one theory credit hour is equivalent to:

  • one (1) clock hour (contact) hour
  • one lab credit hour is equivalent to two (2) clock hours
  • one practical credit hour is equivalent to three (3) clock hours
• The allowable period to complete the degree shall not be less than (2) two years and not more than (4) four years in addition to 6 month of internship. The length of the semester is 15 weeks excluding the examination period.
• The language of instruction shall be in English.
• The program will be paid and implemented through the Deanship of Community Services.
• The available seats in the program allow admission of only 40 students at the moment.
